French Onion Yumminess :)

So my husband, Matt, bought a 10lb bag of Vidalia onions from work. A co-workers child was selling them for a fund raiser. So I thought what better way to utilize them to their full potential and they did a great job. It was just sweet enough and was amazing in a sour dough bread bowl!

Its been toooo long...

So tonight for dinner is a dish I learned to cook from my sister-in-law when she was in town from Libya. It is couscous. I have not had a craving for the food itself, mostly the smell. It perfumes the house and smells so fragrant and delicious! Hubby is almost done with work and should be on his way home soon... All that's left to do is steam the couscous and we are ready to eat!

Purple Potatoes?!?!

I LOVE to explore when grocery shopping! Today I was just looking for the norm and from across the room spotted PURPLE POTATOES! I have been searching for them for close to 5 years now. They taste the same and are the same texture as a red bliss potato. Your classic waxy variety, but it is true that you eat with your eyes first so I had to have them! I am so excited!!

Tomorrow night's menu:
Grilled Teriyaki New York Strip Steak and Mushrooms
Herb Roasted Purple Potato Medley
Pan Seared Zucchini and Onions

Hungry?

Culinarapy (Kul-a-nair-a-p)

Obviously inspired by the movie Julie and Julia and not so obviously by my friend Shannon, I have decided to give this a try. Wish me luck!!

For me creating an incredible, mouth-watering dish with fresh, unique ingredients is what makes me happy. It's the same way an artist uses paints to express their creativity, I just use a plate instead of a canvas.
